This week was just another week of working on my squares for my blanket. I did not learn any new stitches this week, I just continued working on the stitches I already knew how to do. I figured out that it is easier to get my squares done if I do them one color square at a time. It helps me keep track of what stitch I am doing. For example sometimes if I am switching stitches from a half-double crochet to a waffle stitch I forget how to do a waffle stitch and I have to learn it all over again. Every week I am going to try and dedicate my time to one certain color and stitch. I dedicated this week to one specific color, which was blue.
At the beginning of the week I had to look up how to do a half-double crochet stitch because I was mixing it up with a regular double crochet stitch. Once I figured out my stitch and got everything situated I began crocheting my blue half-double crochet squares. I ended up making three and a half squares this week. That is not how many I would like to make in a week, but it shows progress compared to other weeks. I noticed that some of my squares are not ending up the same size despite using all of the same measurements. The three blue squares I finished this week were slightly larger than the blue squares I had made in the past. I think that once I start getting used to the stitch, my individual stitches in the square begin to become looser. When I am sewing the final blanket together my plan is to stretch some squares out and sew them so that they all fit together evenly in the finished product.
